Daywise Detailed Itinerary

After you arrive at the airport in Kathmandu, you will be greeted by a Yatra representative, who will take you to the hotel. Kathmandu is the capital and the largest city of Nepal. It is also the cultural and political centre, with a blend of ancient traditions and modern technology.

Upon arrival at the hotel, check-in and relax for a while. Thereafter, visit the famous Pashupatinath Temple, which is one of the most revered shrines of the Hindus. Located on the banks of the Bagmati River, this temple is dedicated to Lord Shiva. This holy shrine has been listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

Though it remains out of bounds for non-Hindu tourists, they can enjoy a spectacular view of the shrine from the opposite bank of the river.

After the visit, retreat to the hotel and sleep the night away.

Soon after breakfast, check-out from the hotel and drive to Pokhara. This town is the most preferred destination among adventure seekers. It is about 210 km from Kathmandu city and is located at a height of 2,352 feet above sea level. Situated in the scenic backdrop of Annapurna range, it forms the base for various trekking expeditions.

On your way to this picturesque region, you can indulge in river rafting or visit the Manakamana Temple. This shrine, dedicated to Goddess Durga, is believed to fulfil wishes of all its devotees. You can reach this temple by a cable car ride, which takes around 10 minutes.

After an eventful day, relax overnight at the hotel.

In the afternoon, proceed for a visit to the Bindhyabasini Mandir. This is one of the oldest temples in Pokhara, which was a part of the Kaski Kingdom. The main deity of this shrine is Goddess Bhagwati, a manifestation of Shakti. Besides the peaceful and tranquil environment around, the premises of the temple offers a breathtaking view of the Himalayas. It is located in the Old Bazaar area, which is the commercial hub of the town.

Later, head towards Devi’s Fall, also known as Patale Chhango. It is a beautiful cascade, which is located on the Siddhartha Highway.

Another tourist attraction here is the Gupteshwar Mahadev Cave, situated opposite to Devi’s Fall. This cave is popular for different natural forms of Lord Shiva, Goddess Parbati, naag, Lord Ganesha and mouse. Photography is strictly prohibited inside the cave.

After a mesmerising experience, retire to the hotel room and sleep overnight.

Post breakfast, drive back to Kathmandu. Upon arrival, check-in at the hotel and take some rest. As the day is free for leisure activities, you can either indulge in shopping or can visit the casinos to try your luck. Get back to the hotel and sleep the night away.

Soon after breakfast, embark on a journey to Patan, which is located on the southern side of Bagmati River. Patan, also known as Lalitpur, is famous for wood and stone carvings, metal statues, ornate architecture and temples. Visit Patan's central Durbar Square, which is packed with ancient palaces, pagoda temples, stone baths, Hindu and Buddhist statues, bas relief and engravings.

Proceed towards the Tibetan Refugee Centre that is home to most of the valley's Tibetan population. The camp houses carpet factories that produce some of the finest carpets in the country. It also produces handicrafts like wood and metal prayer wheels.

Later, visit the Buddhist temple of Swayambhunath, which is locally referred to as the Monkey Temple. The golden spire of the Swayambhu Stupa is adorned with a colourful fluttering of prayer flags and crowns a hill overlooking the Kathmandu Valley. The areas around the stupa comprises chaityas, temples, painted images of deities and many other religious objects.
