Tedong Hill
This is pone of the most scenic destination of this region. It is situated above Damthang overlooking the town of Namchi. There is a small flat stretch of land at an altitude of 8530 feet. It is surrounded by lush green ancient forest which is popularly known as Tendong Hill. View from the top of the hill is to be cherished and enjoyed as it spans across plains of West Bengal to the majestic height of Himalayan Ranges. One can also trek to Namchi via Tendong Hill with some guidance from the locals. Borong, Maenam, Temi Tea estate are few places close to Tedong.
Maenam Hill
This is situated close to Tedong and Ravangla. This hill Towers above Tendong Hill on the other side overlooking the Ravangla bazaar. Maenam is situated at an altitude of nearly 10,300 feet. The view from the height is perhaps unmatched and will definitely please any visitors. There is a trek route from Maenam to Ravangla and it nearly takes about four hour. There are few more destinations around this region Borong is one such establishment.
Ravangla
Ravangla town is located at 7000 feet and it is the base of Maenam and Tendong Hill. Ravangla is ideally located with magnificent view of the Himalayan range. Clear view of the snow peaks and ranges of mount Kanchenjunga, mount Pandim, mount Sinioulchu, mount Kabru can be enjoyed. Higher side of Ravangla experiences snowfall during winter. During spring and autumn the region blooms with flower and orchids. A trek down to the sacred cave Shar Chok Bephu is enjoyed by many guests
Namchi / Namtse
Namchi literally means Sky High. It is situated at an elevation of nearly 5500 feet. Nearly 80 kilometers from Gangtok and 100 kilometers from Siliguri is a recently developed tourist spot. The recent development of Chaar Dhaam has boosted it to a fast developing tourism destination of South Sikkim. Earlier South District was devoid of major tourist spots but gradually the smaller spots also got the importance. The hills offer panoramic view of the snow-capped mountains and vast stretches of valley.
Borong and Ralong hot water spring
There is a motor-able road from Ravangla to Borong via Menam. One can also trek to Borong from Namchi or Demthang and it is best if the trek is for 5 to 6 days, stay at hut is also possible. It's a beautiful village with magnificent landscape. Borong and Ralong hot water springs are located within a distance of 6 kilometers from each other from each other. Like any hot water spring this also have curative powers. Ralong monastery is an hour drive from the Ralong Hot water spring while Borang Cha - chu also nearby.
Mangan
This is a small settlement and is close to some of the villages like Lingdong, Barfok and Hee-Gyathang falling under Dzongu area. Mangan is one of the most attractive tourist destinations of Sikkim. North Sikkim is a district of the Indian state of Sikkim with its headquarters at Mangan. The landscape is mountainous with dense vegetation all the way up to the alpine altitude and ultimately ending out to a cold desert towards the Northern end. The region is famous for the Phensong and Phodong Monastery.
Sikip & Phur Tsa Chu
Sikip is on the bank of River Rangeet in the South District. It is nearly 5 hours drive from Gangtok via Legship; it can also be reached from Siliguri, Kalimpong and Darjeeling via Jorethang. It can also offer tourist with bird watching and angling. Charming surrounding, natural beauty, less populated makes it an ideal place for leisure holiday. Phur Tsa Chu or the hot water spring is close on the Rangeet river bank. It is an hour drive from Jorethang and half hour drive from Legship.
