Lataguri Forest

It is among the most popular wildlife destinations that promises a pristine untouched nature along with amazing variety of wildlife, that it is famous for. When you are here you could as well view the Bisons, Tigers, Cheetahs and Elephants along with some exquisite birds, hard to find anywhere else. The place is gifted with green serene Tea Gardens that spread until the horizons. You can also view some local festivals and have a brief idea on its culture.

Gorumara National Park

Around 15 km away from Lataguri lies the popular tourist spot of Gorumara situated along the rivers of Jaldhaka and Murti. In 1949, its status was changed to Wildlife sanctuary and then was later declared as an Wildlife sanctuary which spreads over an area of around 80 km. The main attractions besides the Flora and Fauna are the wildlife varieties such as Royal Bengal Tiger, huge Asian elephants, Great Indian Hornbill etc.

Chapramari Wildlife Sanctuary

Its loacated around 20 km from the Gorumara National Park and is beautifully situated in the foothills of the Himalayas. It is rich in Flora and Fauna and also a great place to view the Eastern Himalayan Range as well as the Kanchenjunga Range. The Sanctuary is open till 6:00 pm during summers but during winters, it closes at 5:00 pm. It is probably the oldest sanctuaries that the Dooars has and is a must visit paradise.

Jayanti Mahakal Caves

The Mahakal Caves are a popular spot for tourist visiting Dooars. It is situated along the banks of River Jayanti and is also very popular as a great trekking destination inside West Bengal. The caves are believed to be quite an old and ancient ruin. There are attached with the magnificent Sinchula Hills and there are ample stay options in between the dense forest which in itself is an adventure worth trying.

Buxa Tiger Reserve

A 2 hours drive from Lataguri should reach you till Buxa Tiger Reserve which is beautifully one of a kind reserve. It definitely is worth your time and you might just see some of the Tigers along with few other unique wildlife like the Leopards, Chetahs, Sambar, Elephants, Bisons, Chital Deer and few others. The drive till Buxa can be tiring but adventure is assured here.

Rovers Point

It's an amazing point that should be part of your Dooars plan. It is located quite close to the Buxa Fort and is also popular as the land of some rarest birds. Visitors here are gifted with some amazing hilltop view and provide an aerial view of the dense green forests spread endlessly. Tourist prefers visiting here as you can also view the Buxa Tiger Reserve from up here and it certainly is magical.

Murti

It is an amazing river that attracts tourist for a good time and is also a great point for locals to have a picnic. The Murti River flows down the Kalimpong hills and is pretty serene and glittering when the sunshine hits it. The Surrounding hills and the stream take you to a complete state of being tranquil and provide a peaceful pleasure that replenishes your soul. It is around 17 km from Lataguri and a great weekend getaway destination.
