Taktsang Monastery

It's a beautiful monastery which is globally popular and also known as the Tiger’s Nest due to a mythological myth that it holds. The monastery is perched on top of a cliff and the tourists need to trek a little to reach its premises but the view is certainly worth the effort. It is said that Guru Padmasambhava, the influential Buddhist monk flew here on his Tiger ride and meditated here to drive away the negative energy from Bhutan.

Thimphu

It's the charming capital and the administrative city of Bhutan which is perched in the Himalayan Range along the Chuu River that flows beneath. Unlike other capital cities, you will see development here but it’s a little different here. The city has structures whose designs are always traditional and there is absence of any major Brand shops in the city yet there are ample things here to have a good time. The most amazing thing about the capital is that it needs no traffic lights to control its traffic. It is done by its supportive citizens, on their own.

Paro

The beautiful valley of Paro is a gorgeous beautiful valley which is surrounded by lush green surroundings. The beauty of the valley is beyond words and is also of great religious and cultural value. There are many historical buildings and sites here making it one of the most popular towns in Bhutan. The freshness of Paro along with clear air and serene atmosphere is always a delight. The Rinpung Dzong is one of the prominent sites to visit here which shows its deep heritage and culture.

Phuentsholing

It the first Bhutanese town that you will step in if you Enter Bhutan through Jaigaon. Most of the VISA and permits are managed by the admninistrative offices here and besides being the gateway to Thimphu and PAro, there are a few places that you could visit here. The Amo Chuu, The Crocodile Breeding center, Karbandi Monastery and is also a great place for shopping and taking back souvenirs back home. There is also a big gate called Bhutan Gate, that acts as an border with India.

Bumthang Valley

Bumthang is another beautiful valley that is perched at an altitude of about 2600 m. It is one of the spiritual heartlands of Bhutan and has most of the ancient and religious sites spread around. The valley has some of the oldest Buddhist monasteries and has terrains along with apple trees. The places here are also very beautiful and are a delight of a place which shall be a peaceful hideout that should suit your vacation.

Haa Valley

If you are a Nature buff and are on a trip to Bhutan, make your first destination the Haa Valley. It’s a beautiful natural delight that should leave you spellbound through its picturesque surroundings. There also are many temples and fortresses around the valley like Lhakhang Karpo, NAgpo and Shekhar Drak. The vintage monasteries present here are the Dobji Dzong and the Tagchu Monastery which is around 100 years old and is a cultural heritage. Haa Valley is a must for all kind of travelers.

Punakha Dzong

It is one of the most prominent structures that have huge importance in the History of Bhutan. Located in the scenic town of Punakha, the Dzong is rich in Bhutanese architecture and culture. The Dzong lies at an altitude of about 1300m and it served as the capital of Bhutan from the year 1637 to 1907. The peaceful ambiance here really a gift and apart from the Dzong, the Chhimi Lhakhang and Limbukha are other attractions which should be of great interest to any genre of tourists.
